Description

The House is in Gavi, a historic town which witnessed many events since Roman period to Napoleon's wars. It was situated on the path connecting, in times of pilgrimages, France to Rome. It is a farm building entirely reorganised to obtain three double rooms and 15 studios. Every unit is independent, with a terrace overlooking on one side the splendid Gavi's fortress and on the other the valley and the surrounding hills. All have washing machine and flat iron, TV, independent heating and a completely equipped kitchen. The rooms are wide, full of light and very cozy thanks to the original paintings decorating the walls and the warm colour of sofas and bedspreads. The beds are modern, in all wood, double or French size, have latex mattresses and cushions, guaranteeing absence of magnetic fields and therefore a healthy rest.
The building is surrounded by more than 13 hectares of land cultivated with grains and sunflowers, and woods, where it is possible to take pleasant promenades. In the garden the variety of flowers and evergreen bushes shows a coloured view in every season.
The panoramic restaurant offers gastronomic local specialities, prepared with care and love in the ancient country tradition.

Surroundings

Not to lose the visit of the nice town of Gavi, of its XII century Cathedral and of the two XVI century oratories, of the Bianchi and of the Turchini, with works of art and frescoes, the Townhall and the Fortress dominating the ancient town.
In the surroundings, an ancient Roman Castrum in Libarna (4km), an archaeological site with rests of a theatre, an amphitheatre and several buildings.
Acqui Terme (42km), has been a thermal site since Roman imperial period and has in the very centre of the city a 70° salty-bromo-iodine-sulphur spring, called “la bollente”, the “boiling one”, beside several interesting monuments.
The natural park of Capanne di Marcarolo, including the Lavagnina lakes, worthy passing some days covering some of its tracks.
In Serravalle Scrivia (8km) the biggest Outlet in Europe, a paradise for shopping.
Genoa (60km), with its seaport and the stunning Acquarium.

Activities

In Gavi's borough tennis courts, swimming pool, MB renting. In the surroundings also horse riding schools and three eighteen-holes golf courses.

Food, wine and crafts

In our restaurant you'll be able to taste typical local dishes and wines. Here is the land of Gavi, a white noble dry wine, whose delicate and persistent flavour is unequalled in matching with fish, white meats, soups, appetizers, fresh cheeses. Beside the area also produces a delicious Dolcetto, a dry red wine with an almond flavour and a bitterish after-taste appropriate to white meats and truffle risottos. And more: white Moscato, Gioioso, dessert wines.
