Italy Travelguide Tuscany Lucca and its wall Guinigi Tower
Versione italiana  English Version

Guinigi Tower

On Via Guinigi, one of the streets that has best conserved the original medieval characteristics, looks onto the two sides of the so-called houses of Guinigi, compact nucleus of brick buildings, dominated by the characteristic Guinigi Tower. This kind of testimony to power of this cast, which dominated the city for centuries, is one of the few remaining inside the city wall of which was considered to be around the 14th century and on which rises a large holm-oak tree, making it unique and unmistakable.
