Bomarzo (the town)
An uphill ramp going along the wall of the palazzo passes under an arch and leads to the real entrance of the town: a portal with the writing "Vicino Orsino". Before entering, however, let's take a look at the parapet of the entry, to enjoy the beautiful panorama of the lower part of the medieval town.
Having crossed the arch, you find yourself in the heart of the medieval town; there isn't a visiting itinerary (also because it's very small) so let yourselves be guided by your curiosity and your desire to explore the narrow streets, arches, alleyways: you will find charming views made even more pleasurable by the inhabitants' passion for plants with the flowering vases in every corner.
At the top of the first uphill climb, you'll find the majestic Palazzo Orsini (whose façade we admired from the parking lot); if it's not open you can ask at City Hall or at the pro-loco if they will let you see it.
The terrace of the council hall in City Hall is lovely and has an incredible view: if you are in Bomarzo on a weekday you can ask if they will show it to you.
