The Vulture High Bradano region
In Basilicata, northward of Potenza's county - a few kilometres from Bari and Naples, on the road to charming Matera, or to Maratea and Scanzano seaside - expands the area of Vulture High Bradano.
A very green basin of history and culture, where thousands years old springs spurt, where for centuries have being growing forests and monumental trees, where unique varieties of animals, fishes, birds and butterflies live.
A paradise which is wild as for nature and environmental aspects, but absolutely welcoming for its typical hospitality. A preserved area, rich of historic testimonies and rare beauties, but still out of mass tourism roads.
Nowadays the area begins to be enhanced by a series of cultural events: important exhibitions are held in the beautiful ancient riding stables of Melfi's Castle; theatre and short film festivals in Rionero and Venosa; performances in Venosa, in the beautiful scenery of the Incompiuta (Unfinished, the name of a splendid XI-XII century cathedral that was never finished).
Moreover across all the area in summer there are religious and pagan feasts, fairs and guided visits to castles, catacombs, water sports in the lakes, promenades in the woods and along the tracks of the ancient and mythical bandit Crocco, who put up a fight against Piemontese conquest.
