Booking and Cancellation Policy
Booking
You may request an accommodation by sending us a regular e-mail or by filling in the request form for one or more accommodations in which you are interested.
In case none of the requested accommodations is available, Rural Journey will suggest alternatives.
Rural Journey will send you an e-mail with all the directions needed to conclude the booking.
From that moment you'll have 72 hours to pay the deposit (see below) and to notify Rural Journey. Your reservation will be held for those 72 hours, but if the deposit is not made within that time, availability can no longer be guaranteed and will have to be verified again.
Deposit and Payment
A deposit of 18% of the total cost of the stay at your accommodation must be paid in advance to Rural Journey. We accept VISA or MasterCard, bank transfers and international money orders as payment. You should immediately notify Rural Journey with the payment certificate.
The remaining 82%, must be paid to the management of the accommodation upon arrival or according to different directions, if any, specified in the accommodation booking policy (see below "Special conditions"). Payment at the accommodation has to be made in cash when the credit card icon is not shown in the accommodation description.
Confirmation
As soon as you have paid the deposit you will receive confirmation of your reservation together with the complete address, e-mail address and telephone number of your accommodation.
In case of payment by bank transfer/money order, the confirmation will start as soon as we receive the payment certificate by fax or e-mail.
Your arrival time is very important: if you should be delayed for any reason you must contact the accommodation’s management directly.
Cancellation
Should you have to cancel a reservation:
Up to 41 days prior to the date of your expected arrival we will refund your deposit minus 20 Euros, which will cover our bank expenses.
Less then 41 days prior to the date of your expected arrival we will keep 100% of the deposit.
If for any reason we must change your accommodation after we have confirmed it, we will offer you an equivalent alternative. If you decide not to accept it we will reimburse the full deposit.
Rural Journey cannot be responsible for changes and cancellations beyond its control, such as flood, fire, earthquake, other natural disasters, wars etc. Trip cancellation insurance is recommended to cover such problems.
Special conditions
Some of Rural Journey accommodations have booking/cancellation policies of their own, which have been integrated into Rural Journey's policy. In such cases you will find the other conditions requested by the accommodation clearly described under the heading "Booking Policy" in the accommodation’s "Rates" section.
Complaints
We select the accommodation from our database and do our best to provide an accurate description of the facility. If you have any concerns about your accommodation after your arrival we will be pleased to discuss them with you during your stay. However, NO reimbursements will be made based on complaints or comments received after your stay in the accommodation has been completed.
We hope you will take a few minutes to complete and return Evaluation Forms that we mail to you after your stay: your feedback is very important to us in keeping the maximum level of quality in our service.
Changes in rates
Any changes in rates or terms of payment due to special offers or special periods during the year (such as long weekends or special holidays) will be clearly noted on our website as well as on your reservation form.
