Description
Modern house, only very recently built, in the midst of the Lunigiana region and its luxuriant nature. It has a spacious living room with a kitchen, a convertible sofa, two bathrooms with a shower and two bedrooms. One of the bedrooms is a double whereas the other has a bunk bed which may be transformed into two single beds or a double one. The house is surrounded by an approximately 600 square meter garden and a still small laurel hedge (planted this year). There is a table, chairs and guests will have at their disposal sun beds, parasols and a barbeque.
Foreign languages spoken: English, French
Surroundings
The house is in the Lunigiana region, in the municipality of Filattiera, on the outskirts of the Parco dell'Appennino Tosco-Emiliano national park and along the ancient Francigena road. There are many more than worthwhile walks to be enjoyed along the trails of the Apennine mountains. In Filattiera one should also tour the 10th Century Romanesque parish of Sorano, the Byzantine town of Ponticello with its "case-torri" (fortified houses), Pontremoli (4 km to the North), the Medieval town, the church of the SS. Annunziata with its many frescoes and paintings, the Piagnaro castle with its stele statues museum (anthropomorphic statues dated to the stone ages and which have been found throughout the Lunigiana region), the churches, towers, squares and buildings which testify the importance this ancient town held in the past. In Villafranca (7 km to the South), we suggest a tour of the ethnographic museum and of the Byzantine town of Filetto (one of the most interesting of the Lunigiana). The region has numerous fascinating fortresses and castles; interesting are also the castle of Lusuolo which holds the emigration museum, the Terrarossa castle of Villafranca, the Brunella fortress which overlooks Aulla and which guests the natural history museum and the imposing castle of Fosdinovo. In Luni one may tour the remains of an ancient roman amphitheater and, in the vicinities, the archaeological museum. In only 30 minutes one may reach the beaches of Marinella, of Sarzana Fiumaretta and of Bocca Magra. In less than one hour one may reach Versilia and le Cinque Terre. In one hour one may reach Pisa and Parma; in two Florence, Genoa and Milan.
How to reach us through public transportation: We are 4 km from the train station of Pontremoli, in-between Parma and La Spezia. Once there take a bus, a taxi or, on request we may organize transfers.
We are only 1 km from the Scorcetoli train station (only used by local trains), from there we may organize transfers.
We nonetheless believe it is much better to come by car for it is otherwise difficult to tour all there is in the surroundings.
ActivitiesIn the vicinities: swimming pool, golf course, tennis courts, horse-back riding, trekking, hunting, fishing and hang-gliding. |
