Description

Typical restored rural court, in the open countryside, 5 km. away from the center of Lucca.
The farm house, whose original construction dates back to the mid 1700's, is located near the old owner's villa. It was made to hold animals, the storage of equipment and for the production of wine and grain; the farmers lived in 2 houses, both part of the same construction. They have belonged to the same family for over 3 generations and were modified in time to satisfy the changing needs. Today there are there apartments:
- Il Fienile: old barn restructured maintaining the characteristic structure and arches intact.
It is made up o: living/dining area, kitchenette, loft bedroom, dressing area with bunkbed, bathroom, large outdoor porch. Suitable for 4 people.
- La Stalla: Stall transformed into a pleasant loft for 2 people (plus a possible bed for a child) with ktichenette; arbor annex available.
- Il Rifugio: Vat room transformed into a small loft for 2 people. From the living/dining area with kitchenette you reach the night are with a little dressing area with bathroom with bathtub. Reserved equipped outdoor area.

Surroundings

Lucca, the "city of a hundred churches", is only 5 km. away and is one of the most characteristic Italian cities, with the wall still intact, and you can walk along it or take a bike ride. The historic center, having remained as it was in the times of Elisa Baciocchi Bonaparte, is a tourist location of great charm for the originality of its squares and historic buildings. To not miss are Piazza del Mercato (the old Roman amphitheater), Piazza San Michele, and Piazza del Duomo. On the Lucchesi hills you can also admire the marvelous villas of the old local aristocrats, such as the Palace of Marlia, Villa Mansi, and Villa Torrigiani, typical examples of Renaissance architecture, with their well-kept parks.
Pisa with its old and rich story of Marine Republic, is only 15 km away. The visit of Piazza dei Miracoli, with the famous Tower, is a must for anyone staying in Tuscany.
You cannot also forget the other famous places in Tuscany, easily reachable as a day trip: Florence (70 km away.), Pietrasanta (approximately 40 Km away), San Gimignano (80 Km. away), Volterra (90 Km away), the marble caves of Carrara (approximately 70 Km. away).
The beaches of Versilia are 20 minutes away.

Activities

For those who love sports and relaxing, it will be possible to take pleasant horse rides on the grounds of San Rossore, ex-hunting grounds of the King of Italy, or bike rides along the wall of Lucca; you can take walks in the woods around the Court or in the charming corner of the Apuane Alps, play golf in one of 5 courses within a radius of 50 Km. or relax in the swimming pool of the Court or on the marvelous beach of Versilia, which can be reached in 20 minutes by car.

Booking Policy:

After booking with Rural Journey, the accommodation requires an additional advanced payment of 20% of the agreed total sum, payable directly to them by bank transfer.

Cancellation penalties (payable by bank transfer to the accommodation):
- Between the 40th and 8th day prior to arrival: 25% of the total agreed sum.
- From the 7th day prior to arrival: 60% of the agreed sum.

Security deposit for eventual damages: 200 Euros to be paid upon arrival and reimbursed at departure.
