Dear Rural Journey staff
Thank you for your email. Feedback re Agriturismo Palazzolo Acreide, Sicily:
The accommodation booked through your site was fabulous - much better than
we had expected. The managers were friendly, welcoming and very helpful. The
apartment was large and airy and well equipped for self catering with well
appointed furniture. The main bedroom was large with a very comfortable bed
and lots of storage available. There were self service communal laundry
facilities available for a very reasonable price which was great. The whole
complex was tastefully presented with a sense of privacy for each apartment,
quiet at night and as it is out in the countryside very peaceful and
tranquil.
The pool was great surrounded by grass and set amongst olive trees with a
diving board and lots of loungers, chairs etc. The restaurant was available
if you didn't want to self cater and served delicious food with great
service.
It was a short drive (20 mins) to Siracusa, Noto, Ragusa (you need a car to
stay here) and also to 2 large supermarkets for grocery needs.
Only downsides:
- no oven with only stove top cooking
- only one separate bed for the 3 children (other 2 children had to share a
double sofa bed). We did found this sharing of double beds for the children
a feature of nearly every accommodation choice throughout southern Italy &
Sicily but guests should be forewarned as many children esp older ones are
not very happy about the arrangement.
We would recommend this accommodation to anyone wanting to stay in the
Siracusa area
Thank you very much

The Borgo offered accommodation of a very good standard in a beautiful setting. Standards of cleanliness were also good, although the double bed and twin beds in our accommodation were all very hard and rather uncomfortable.
The staff were friendly, the grounds were very well maintained and the food in general was excellent - in particular the evening meals which offered good quality and value.
I would recommend this accommodation to friends, although it was further from some of the main local sites and towns than we would have liked. Visitors would need to be prepared for quite a lot of driving.
A map or directions to the accommodation should be provided along with the voucher when booking, as it was not very easy to find.
Kind regards,
Paola

Hello!
We had a wonderful time at this agriturismo. The staff was very friendly,
and we did not feel alone, even if we were the only guests part of the time
we stayed there. The garden and the buildings placed as a little village
made the atmosphere very pleasant. We especially appreciated the quiet
countryside and the view of the rolling hills with olive trees.
The only thing we would like you know, that could have been better, was that
the apartment "Uva" was not quiet ideal at this time of the year. It was
very dark, since there only was one little window and the door letting too
little light into the big living room. The outdoor area had a cover, and no
sun during the day, not very ideal in September/October, but certainly good
in the hot summers. I assume this applies also for the apartments Pera and
Melograno. When we go to Sicily in the autumn, we definitely want sun!
For this reason we asked for another apartment, and ended up with Ginestra,
which was much better. However, we had to pay 12 Euros extra per person for
the change of apartment, having slept in the first one night. Well, it was
worth the change....
All in all it was a most pleasant stay, and would like to come back some
day!
Best regards,
Beate
P.S. The reason why we chose Uva was that it according to your discription
had both heating and airconditioning, whereas for the other apartments this
is not mentioned. However, Ginestra did have heating, which we needed during
some cold nights.

Bellissimo il giardino, pieno di fiori e curatissimo con una piacevole piscina e un fitto tappeto erboso, in mezzo ad una campagna collinare incontaminata e di grande fascino. Accoglienza calorosa e amichevole, cucina semplice, genuina e raffinata.
Siamo stati benissimo.
