Description

The House is not far from Etna slopes, on a hill hanging between time and space. It's an estate of more than 200 hectares cultivated according to the ancient peasant tradition.
The building, an ancient XIII century monastery surrounded by green hills, developes around an internal courtyard, typical of the richest feuds of that times. Over this look 14 comfortable rooms (one of which for disable), warm and cosy, with Sicilian furnishing, private bathroom, heating and terracotta tiles floors.
The restoration respected the style of traditional local architecture. Arches, little squares, old wooden beams and walls create an ancient atmosphere. In our wide dining hall you'll be able to taste the magic matching of fragrances and flavours of the typical island cuisine.

Surroundings

The House is situated in the heart of sun land, in an ideal position for excursions to Taormina, Agrigento, Noto, Ragusa e Ibla.
In the immediate surroundings you will find resorts of great tourist interest:
Piazza Armerina, with the Villa Imperiale del Casale and its splendid mosaics;
Caltagirone, with the beautiful historical centre and world famous for its peculiar ceramics;
Morgantina, a true ancient Greek town, with the Agorà and the huge theatre.

Activities

The House offers to guests a big swimming pool, the opportunity to assist to t agricultural activities, a small peasant tradition museum, serene promenades in the green and nature. The House also has an agreement with a nearby horse riding school with qualified trainers.

Food, wine and crafts

Farm's products are only organic and typical of the area: wine, honey, home made liquors, prickly pears, fresh and dried fruits, cheeses and pork cold cuts, fowl, roasted meats, home made pastas, all to be seasoned with our extra-virgin olive oil and hosed by our wine, which is produced with Nero d'Avola grapes, cultivated in low yield vineyards and hand collected.
Breakfast is served with simple but very selected foods, home made typical cakes, honey, jams and marmalades. To buy: Nero d'Avola wine and extra-virgin organic olive oil.
