Description

This late 19th century country building complex has become an extraordinary oasis for relax and a perfect starting point for walks on foot or rides by mountain bike in the nearby Parco della Rocca. The building that once contained a spinnery, with the small courtyard, has been converted into several apartments. It is connected to the main building by a picturesque gallery that has become an open-air exhibition of old farm machinery used until a few decades ago.
The apartments are roomy, well-lit and elegantly furnished, and each has its own outfitted kitchen area and satellite TV. Studios, two-room, three-room and four-room apartments are available. There is a large hall with a fireplace used as breakfast room in the morning, as reading room, to relax and use the Internet point in the afternoon.
A sport centre has been made in the garden in front of the farmhouse, including a 20x10m swimming pool, 4 tennis courts, a beach-volley area and a children’s playground.
The lake is only 1 km away and the distance to the nearest food shops is 100 m and to the chemist’s 800 m.

Surroundings

The farmhouse is sited in the small village of Montinelle, part of the historical centre of Manerba, nestled on the edge of the “Rocca” Natural Park. From here you will enjoy a fantastic view of almost the whole lake, the Island of Garda in the foreground and the Pre-Alps and Monte Baldo rim at the sides. Manerba is situated at approximately 15 km from Desenzano, a lively town on the lake, exit of the motorway which runs from the capital city Milan (130 km) to Venice (170 kms). Desenzano has a railway station with frequent connections to/from the main cities such as Verona (50 km away), known as the home of Romeo and Juliet and famous for its refined squares and the Roman amphitheatre, the “Arena” which, in summertime hosts a remarkable Opera festival.

Activities

Our guests can enjoy their time at the swimming-pool, supervised permanently by a swimming instructor, and sunbathe in the spacious solarium area provided with deckchairs and beach umbrellas. In this area you’ll also find a baby pool of about 3 meters, 40 cms deep, for the youngest. The sport area counts 4 tennis courts, a beach and green Volley court and a playground for children. Moreover the lake area offers a wide choice of trekking and mountain bikes itineraries, bikes are available for rental at the reception which is also well equipped with specialised maps.

Food, wine and crafts

Here you will find the home-grown extra-virgin olive oil bearing the PDO Garda Bresciano label.
The estate, of approximately 320 hectares, belonging to the Cavazza’s family started its production at the beginning of last century, on the Morenic hills surrounding the south-west coast of Garda Lake. This site is famous for the characteristically Mediterranean microclimate, here a very delicate and flavoured olive oil is obtained from the ancient olive trees cultivated according to local traditions. The region is also known for its Wine Route, an exciting itinerary that will introduce you to some of the best wines in Italy.
