Description

Located in the suggestive countryside of Siena, this castle stands marvellous on the top of the hill.
It is an impressive medieval building that is first mentioned in a document dating back to 1055!
It still conserves part of the original fortification walls and 3 towers. The agritourism is harmoniously dipped in the nature but only 23 km away from Siena and 15 from Montalcino. There are seven apartments, all recently restructures and located on the first floor of the castle and in a detached dependence.
 - Apartment la Chiocciola, 40 sq meters on the first floor of the castle, consists of a kitchen (with fire place) bathroom and a double room.
- Apartment Aquila: 40 sq meters on the first floor of the dependence. It consists of kitchen, double room and bathroom.
- Apartment Nicchio: located on the dependence, is arranged on two levels. It consists of a kitchen with fire place on the ground floor and a spiral staircase to reach the upstairs. On the first floor there are a double room and a bathroom. Approx 40 sq meters.
- Apartment Pantera: on the first floor of the dependence. It consists of two double rooms, two bathrooms, kitchen and a panoramic balcony. Aprox 55 sq meters.
- Apartment la Selva: on the first floor of the castle. It consists of a kitchen, bathroom and double room. Approx 40 sq meters.
- Apartment Tartuca: on the first floor of the castle, furbished with a kitchen, two double rooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Apartment Torre: on the first floor of the castle, is the biggest apartment (aprox 80 sq metres). It has a central kitchen, 2 large double rooms and two bathrooms.
All the apartments have independent heating, fireplace, TV, bathroom with shower and kitchen.

Ten minutes walking far from the Castle is available too an indipendent villa with swimming pool.

Surroundings

The agritourism is located in on one of the most beautiful spot of Siena’s district, at the edge of the “Crete Senesi,”between the towns of Monteroni d' Arbia and Buonconvento. Easy to reach, the castle is located in open country side but only 1. 5 km away from the main road and from the small village of Ponte d’ Arbia.
In the surroundings there are many interesting place to visit: Buonconvento (6 km), Siena (23 km), S.Quirico d'Orcia e Pienza (30 km) and the Val d'Orcia (declared UNESCO world heritage), San Gimignano (60 km), and the abbeys of Monteoliveto Maggiore and S.Antimo.
Also Florence (about 80 km), Arezzo (70 km) and Perugia (circa 100 km) are reachable in a one day trip.
Food and wine are two good reasons to visit us: Montalcino and the Brunello are only 15 km away. Montepulciano and the Nobile are only 40 km far, and so it is the Chianti region.
There are hot springs in Rampolano (25 km away) and Bagno Vignoni (30 km) for those who want enjoy the thermal water.
