Description

An ancient country house in Tuscan Maremma near Saturnia's thermal baths. The complex consists of the Villa and some small rural buildings hosting 25 rooms in the whole, all furnished with ancient Tuscan furniture and a care for details that makes them all different from one another.
- CLASSIC : standard room with bathroom, tv-sat, minibar, safe, heating/cooling ;
- SUPERIOR: more comfortable than classic room. Welcome drink with a bottle of Bianco di Pitigliano of Fattoria;
- DELUXE: with balcony or veranda or Jacuzzi Whirlpool, more comfortable than Classic and Superior room; Welcome drink with a bottle of Bianco di Pitigliano of Fattoria, Fresh Fruit everyday;
- JUNIOR SUITE: room situated in the tower of old villa. Welcome drink with a bottle of Morellino di Scansano of Fattoria, Fresh Fruit everyday an a soft bathrobe;
- SUITE: room made of bedroom and living room (with Jacuzzi/ Turkish bath shower or with balcony). Welcome drink with a bottle of Morellino di Scansano of Fattoria, Fresh Fruit everyday and a soft bathrobe, minibar and newspaper free.
It is surrounded by the olive trees and vineyards of its own estate, immersed in a wide park of centuries old trees and endowed with a swimming pool, whirlpool bath and tennis court. In the middle of the park in our typical restaurant it's possible to taste local dishes prepared with the fresh farm products.
In the wine bar you'll be invited to taste the DOC wines produced with the grapes of the farm wide vineyards ("Nero", "Bracaleta", Morellino of Scansano and the different whites of Pitigliano), and it's possible to purchase our extra-virgin olive oil, jams and preserves of fruits and vegetables.

Surroundings

The peculiar position of the House makes of it an ideal base for pleasant excursions both toward the sea and the splendid Argentario's coast, and inland, following historic and cultural itineraries to discover Etruscan and Roman vestiges in the surrounding villages.
In less than 30 minutes you may reach picturesque historic little towns as Montemerano, Pitigliano, Sorano, Sovana, Capalbio. In less than an hour you may reach Tuscania, Tarquinia , Orvieto, Montalcino, Pienza and Montepulciano, all rich of splendid artworks, architecture and Etruscan archaeology. In about two hours it's possible to reach Siena, Rome, Perugia, San Gimignano and Volterra.
In the surroundings are also to be found several natural Parks, among which the Regional Park of Maremma and the Fauna Park of Mount Labbro.

Activities

Beside swimming in the swimming pool and playing tennis, it is possible to take thermal cures in Saturnia's spa, with 37°C water all along the year, where we have very good agreements for discounts. Privilege Card at Terme di Saturnia (Private entrance and parking, reserved area for guests, swimming pool set, sauna, turkish bath and access to the “sorgente” pool where the water is hottest).
Near the spa there is a new 18 holes golf green.
Very pleasant excursions, by foot or mountain bike or horse riding are possible in the surrounding country.

Food, wine and crafts

The villa is inside a 33 hectares estate (17 of vineyards, 5 of olive trees, 4 of vegetable garden and the rest of garden) producing wine (Morellino of Scansano and White of Pitigliano), oil, honey, jams, fruit and vegetable preserves and vegetables. All these products are used in our Restaurant cuisine, together with home made bread and pasta.
More typical products of the area are various types of cheese and pork cold cuts.
