Description

The farm lays on the hills around Florence, in the wine-producing area of Chianti Colli Fiorentini. Sunk in the green, in a suggestive panoramic position, endless views on vineyards and olive trees, is the ideal place place to relax and have a pleasant holiday, but, at the same time is near enogh to the cities of artistic and cultural interest.
All around the XVII century villa are grouped the ancient farm houses, some of which are dedicated to our guests, in a green and relaxing environment.
The houses have been reorganised with care not to alter their typical character of Tuscan farm house, with wooden beams and terracotta tiles floors. The furnishing is accurate and comfortable, with top quality materials and care of details. All the apartments have well equipped kitchen, with dishwasher and washing machine, TV, private barbecue and garden. Some also have air conditioning and satellite TV.
The swimming pool (9x8 m, h.1,35m) with solarium opened and at disposition from May to the end of September, is sited on the rear of the villa and is overlooked by the XVII century tower.
The complex is made of five buildings: a villa, two ex-farm houses, two ex-barns, of different dimension, all perfectly independent and with private outdoor spaces and garden.
The distance from the swimming pool varies from 150mt and 300mt, and it can be reached by the road and/or by a footpath among olive trees.

Surroundings

The farm is situated on the hills south east of Florence.
The nearest village, 1km, is San Donato in Collina, where foodstuffs and fruit shops, bar, newspaper kiosk and post office can be found. On the opposite side, at about the same distance, there are chemist's shop, bank, fuel service area and more shops.
Florence is only 10 km far and may be reached also by bus from San Donato in Collina. Within one hour by car are Siena and San Gimignano, whilst Arezzo, Pisa and Volterra maybe reached in one hour and half.
In the surroundings it is possible to visit picturesque Romanesque parish churches, castles, villas, little and scarcely known villages and eat in traditional restaurants out from tourist routes. As for the shopping we suggest The Mall, an outlet at about 20 min by car, and to go and discover the numberless craftsmanship shops and workshops of leather matters, ceramics and antiques in Valdarno. Activities

The house offers a lot of opportunities for walks, trekking, mountain bike excursions, bird watching.
A riding school and tennis courts are at few minutes by car.
Guided visits to Florence, Siena, Chianti region and to other attractive destinations can be organized on request, by minivan and private guide and driver, according to availability.
Wine tasting and cooking course can be organized on request.
The Reception is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.. Our staff is at complete disposal for the organisation of any activity you prefer, be it horse riding, cultural visits to the beautiful monuments and museums in Florence, Siena, Pisa or a shopping spree at the many outlets near Arezzo. A private guide can accompany you for the day in the tour of your preference.

Food, wine and crafts

The estate extends for over 200 hectares of vine-grapes, olive trees and woodland and it is situated in the Chianti area of Tuscany, home of excellent red wine.
The family Rossi di Montelera, owner of the estate, produces it's own Chianti Colli Fiorentini D.O.C.G.,
the excellent Super Tuscan “Terre di Cino” and a high quality Extra Vergin Olive Oil. All products can be purchased during the stay and both the wine cellars and olive mill can be visited by guests.
