Description

The farmhouse is located approximately 2 kilometers from the center of Abbateggio, characteristic rural town of Majella National Park, in a splendid panoramic position, with one side that sweeps from Majella al Morrone, from the tips of Gran Sasso to the sea.
At the center of the 10-hectare property of fields and oak woods, at an altitude of 500 meters, you find the two characteristic stone farmhouses, one dating back to the second half of the 1800's and the other to the beginning of the 1900's, in which our guests are welcomed. The three apartments (which sleep 5 or 2 in addition to double sofa bed) are decorated with traditional, antique wood and wrought iron furniture, which give the surroundings a rustic and yet refined touch. The color-wash painting of the rooms has been done in natural earth tones, the flooring is done in handmade terracotta tiles treated with linseed oil, wooden-beamed flooring, joists, and terracotta flat tiles. All apartments, the kitchens and living areas, have fireplaces, and there is even an invisible heating system in the pavement, which in the winter months, keeps the temperature uniform. Every apartment has a small library for use by our guests.
Large outdoor spaces are available for resting, walking, and relaxing. Some interesting and attractive points of the property will be recommended for reading and meditating. Other parts allow you, during the night, to observe the starry sky lying down on the grass, far from light pollution and listening to the sounds of nature.

Surroundings

The farmhouse is located at the slopes of the Majella, in the National Park of the same name, near the famous thermal baths of Caramanico Terme.
Nearby: the nature, with its wild animals (deer, roe deer, wild boar, squirrels, pheasant) and more than 2000 botanical species present in the territory (around 1/3 of all is Italian botanical heritage), the very clear waters that flow from the Majella, the medieval hermitages, a large part constructed under the reclusive life of Pietro da Morrone who later became Pope with the name Celestino V, the Benedictine and Cistercian medieval churches, the characteristic pastoral dry stone huts (called "a tholos") the centers of art and characteristic towns, but most of all the peace, tranquility, and clean air.
