Description
The house is the XVIII century typical manor farm of Puglia. At ground floor are the bar/reception hall, a wide restaurant hall with fireplace and kitchen, upstairs the owners apartment. From the original fold five roomsa and an apartment on two levels have been obtained, for totally 18 beds. Four of the rooms are endowed with air conditioning. A new hall built beside the old building is used both as restaurant and meeting room.The estate is of about 25 acres with centuries old olive trees, a small oak trees wood and a pasture.

Surroundings
The farm is very near Gargano's National Park, only three kilometres from the sea and Lake Varano. The beautiful Tremiti Islands may be reached in about one hour of navigation. San Giovanni Rotondo with the famous Padre Pio's Sanctuary is at less than one hour by car. Other interesting places to visit in the immediate surroundings are Mount Civita's early Christian necropolis and Foresta Umbra.Puglia Travelguide.
ActivitiesDuring the stay you may have guided trips, cultural meetings and watching of the cultural activities. The last variate according to the seasons, the more intense and interesting being the period of olives harvest, in November and December.During the remaining months it is possible to participate to the making of fresh pasta, fruit jams and liqueurs made with black cherries, basil, lemon, orange and nuts. Nearby: tennis (1km), Mount Civita's early Christian necropolis (1,5km), the sea coast and Lake Varano (3km). |
Food, wine and craftsThe cooking is the country old tradition typical one.In the farm we produce top quality extra-virgin olive oil, fresh pasta, jams and liquors. In the surroundings it is possible to buy typical cheeses, as for instance the “podolico caciocavallo” (a hard strong pear shaped cheese), as well as handworks peculiar of the area, as the “cruedde” (hand weaved crates), fabrics and ceramic wares. |
