The lodging, which sleeps a total of 37, is a fascinating 19th century millstone where wine was made. The rooms are spacious, warm, and bright. They offer views of the Sicilian coast and join the charm and warmth of typical local furnishings, in hand-wrought iron and solid chestnut wood, to the more modern conveniences (color TV, telephone, hairdryer, minibar).
For those who wish, we offer a comfortable apartment complete with kitchen and outdoor private space. It is composed by a big living room with kitchen and a double bed, a double bedroom and a bathroom with tub.
You will find the authenticity of typical homemade Sicilian cooking in the restaurant from the original lava stone floor and embracing the antique winepress.

Surroundings

The house, thanks to its favorable position at the slopes of Mt. Etna, serves also as a base to adventurous excursions toward the crater at the summit of Etna or toward the transparent sea floor of the coast. Only 2 km. away is Mt. Etna Park in which, among other things, one finds the famous "Castagno dei cento cavalli" (100-horse chestnut tree), one of the largest and oldest in the world. Easily reachable are cities of art such as Taormina, Catania, Siracusa, Agrigento, as well as the riviera of the Cyclops and "le Gole dell'Alcantara", fantastic for those who adore canyoning.

Activities

Long walks on the paths of our hills for enjoying stunning views up the coast of Taormina until Augusta and up the Calabra coast. Mini-cooking courses. Car and mountain bike rental. Playground for children, ping-pong, beach. 20 min. away "Asinalandia" (donkey farm). 40 min. away is the departure point for excursions up Etna (Sapienza refuge).

Typical cuisine, authentic and homemade, that uses vegetables picked from our countryside. Fresh, homemade pasta from our chefs. Delicious desserts, cookies, and other homemade delicacies. Etna honey and other honey products, on request, in our establishment. Our dishes are accompanied by I.G.T. and D.O.C. Etna wines, available for purchase in nearby cellars.
