Description

The accommodation is in a private village in the center of a natural amphitheater of the Tuscan Maremma, which lets itself be discovered little by little, among the ancient footprints and grand panoramas.
The extension of the property guarantees privacy and relaxation.
The Marrucchi Locatelli family, which owns this splendid farm since 1873, will know how to suggest and indicate itineraries not to be missed: from the marvelous Etruscan and Roman archaeological sites of Roselle and Vetulonia, to the attractive medieval architecture of S. Salvatore in Giuniano and S. Galgano.
The accommodation offers 5 romantic suites and 2 comfortable apartments. There is also a swimming pool, hall for conferences, meetings, conventions, concerts. All lodgings are immersed in greenery, have a fireplace , terraces and private outdoor areas. The furnishings have been cared for by the owner, the architects Piero and Emiliano Marrucchi Locatelli, who have exclusively used antique furniture and paintings of the family, in perfect harmony with the atmosphere of the accommodation.
There are solutions available for 2, 3, 4, 5 people. All have a lovely living area, one or two bedrooms, kitchen, one or two bathrooms with bathtub or shower. "Libreria Loft" does not have a kitchen, but it has a minibar and tea boiler.
LA SCUOLA: Charming little independent residence (50 sq. meters) ideal for a couple, with central fireplace, living area with kitchen, balcony with view, entrance and bathroom with shower.
CASA DELLA MAESTRA: Romantic suite on three levels (55 sq. meters) realized along the northern nave of the old Parish church, has a living area with large fireplace, a dining area with balcony and kitchen, a mansard with bedroom and breakfast nook; bathroom with shower and bathtub. Air conditioned.
BIFORA: Honeymoon suite, (70 sq. meters). Living room with original Romanesque double lancet (11th cent.) window, kitchenette with small fireplace, marvelous panoramic terrace, double bedroom, bathroom with shower. Air conditioned.
LA FORESTERIA: Elegant suite (80 sq. meters) made up of a large and bright living area with Murano lamp, distinguished by an arch in the day area, with large fireplace and the night area with double bedroom; kitchenette; bathroom with preceding area and shower; large private furnished porch; safe.
LA SACRESTIA: Historic and charming suite (80 sq. meters) with large stone living area where there is the old fireplace of the Parish church. A large window frames the terrace over the hanging garden, which looks over the century-old olive grove, offering a majestic view of Montemassi Castle. Kitchen, double bedroom, small bathroom with shower.
S. ROMITO: Panoramic apartment for 4 people (90 sq. meters). Dining area with fireplace and large panoramic terrace, kitchenette, double bedroom and room-living area with two single beds. Bathroom with shower.
CASA DEL GUARDIA: Ideal apartment for two couples (95 sq. meters). Dining area with large fireplace, kitchenette with dishwasher. Double bedroom with large bathroom (shower and bathtub); room with two single beds with bathroom (shower); private furnished gazebo in the garden.
Being that all are equipped with modern individual heating systems, which support the pleasant warmth of the atmosphere of the old stone fireplaces, all lodgings are suitable in autumn and winter when the Maremma discovers its more secret and intimate sides.

Surroundings

200 km-124 miles from Rome Leonardo da Vinci Airport and 180km-112miles from Pisa G. Galilei airport . It is the ideal base for many tours, to Siena (50km-31miles) and Florence (130 km - 81 miles), or to the local splendid medieval historical centers, like Massa Marittima, Roccatederighi, Montemassi, Montepescali, Sovana, Pitigliano.
In half an hour drive you reach the lovely Tuscan sea coast with the beaches of Castiglione della Pescaia.
The National Park of Uccellina is only 30 minutes away; and nearby are the Oasis of Lake Buriano, Mount Amiata, several thermal baths (among which the world-famous Terme di Saturnia).
There are Etruscan and Roman archaeological sites, the most important of which (Roselle, the Crypt of S. Salvatore a Giuniano, Vetulonia and S. Galgano) all within a 40-minute drive.
At 6km you can find everything you need (bank, post office, pharmacy, grocery, shops, … ) together with several nice trattoria restaurants where you can taste the very good local food.

Activities

Our private forest is the ideal place for jogging, trekking, and excursions on mountain bike – that will be given freely to our guests. The little lakes are the perfect place for relaxing, reading, bird watching and fishing.
In the near surroundings you may practice golf (greens of Punta Ala and Pelagone), tennis and horse riding. Painting, watercolour and cooking classes are organised upon request.

Food, wine and crafts

The Farm has been producing a genuine extra virgin olive oil since 1872. You will be invited to taste this precious natural product inside the atmosphere of the suggestive XI century former church, together with a glass of red wine. In the farm, “wine testing” evenings with the most prestigious local wines, are also often organized on request.
