Description

Old Country Residence with Conversation Area. It is a small and comfortable resort in the heart of Giurdignano, small town a short distance from the sea of Otranto, in most eastern Salento of Italy. There is a beautiful story behind this House, a history of great music shared with Artists-Friends famous for jazz and auteur music, which was performed in concert in this garden, from 1982 to 2000, making it unique and precious: "open-air temple to auteur music" (Paolo Conte)
Today there aren't any more concerts, but the music continues. The atmosphere and environment are the same, like the owners of the house who love to offer warm and discreet hospitality.
The accommodation offers, on the first floor, six rooms with every comfort and a suite, all dedicated to "our" Artist and his world: Paolo Conte, Chet Baker, Michel Petrucciani, Ivano Fossati, Enzo Jannacci, Carmelo Bene.
On the ground floor you will find the lovely library room with books of art, photography, music, a collection of vinyl records and naturally, a piano; and still the little family Chapel; the large garden with century-old palm trees, oleanders, and bougainvillea; the bar, the semi-Olympic swimming pool, and the tennis court.
Out of fashion, a way of living in peace "amid turtles and tact".

Surroundings

Girudignao, three minutes from Otranto, has always been known for its famous enigmatic dolmen and menhir, megalithic prehistoric monuments.
Otranto, in the extreme eastern edge of Italy, for its architecture and landscape it is a jewel; it has managed to keep not only the magnificent cathedral with mosaic pavement from 1100 intact but also to keep all of its historic center in the maze of alleyways and fragrant narrow streets that look onto the sea beautiful.
Lecce, half-an-hour away by car, is an explosion of baroque buildings and churches.
The coastal road of Otranto, which goes along the sea until Leuca, is among the most beautiful in Italy and resumes, and not any less beautiful, until the Ionian Sea and to Gallipoli.

Activities

The accommodation offers its guests a large swimming pool and tennis court and a well-cared for garden with century-old trees where it is possible to read or relax.
Inside there is a library-hall rich in books of music, photography, and signs and fliers of our concerts (1982-2000); it is also possible to play music on the piano, which is available to guests.
Nearby you will find horse-riding grounds, a golf course, bicycle and boat rental, as well as many other services.

Food, wine and crafts

We indicate to our clients, in a very accurate guide made available by us, the best products that are available in the area. The oils, the wines, the preserves, the jams, sweet and salty foods, artisan products (mostly papier-mâché and needlepoint).
