Surroundings
Lingueglietta is a typical Ligurian town that maintains traces of its medieval layout intact. At 320 meters above sea level, in a splendid hill position, immersed in the greenery of olive groves, 6 km from the coast. If you arrive by car from San Lorenzo to the sea the ascent of the Cipressa create the famous cycling course Milan-Sanremo. It is easily reachable by the highway junctions of Imperia Ovest and Taggia Arma and in a privileged position for reaching the main locations of the Ligurian Riviera to the west and the nearby Azure Coast.During the summer seasons a bus connects Lingueglietta with two nearby coastal towns: San Lorenzo at the sea and Santo Stefano.
ActivitiesThe hill position makes it so that the town, immersed in the greenery of the olive groves, has a wooden zone laid out to its shoulders. This offers the possibility to go on panoramic and wholesome walks and to explore the uncountable paths on foot or mountain bike. The sea and the coast are a short distance away for those who want to enjoy beach activities. |
Food, wine and craftsIn the town and generally in the surrounding area there are predominately farms that offer those passionate about food and wine a variety of products and flavors. The oil, from the taggiasca olive, the wine, in particular Vermentino and Rossese, accompany a variety of products, for example the white bean of Badalucco, olive pasta, the "Stroscia di Pietrabruna".There are numerous restaurants in the surrounding area that offer typical Ligurian dishes: from ravioli, to rabbit, to turnips, to the classic green cakes (filled with vegetables), arriving at the most celebrated fish dishes. Not to be forgotten is the floral culture, which has made the territory one of the main exporters of flowers in Italy and in the world. |
