In Abruzzo, the tall Gran Sasso, Maiella, and Laga Mountains, with the National Park of Abruzzo, make for nature-lovers’ joy: an intact mountain chain little known to tourism, where bears and wolves still live, where it is possible to walk an entire day without running into anybody. Abruzzo is the region of castles: Celano, Pereto, Rocca Calascio, Ortucchio, and Scurcola Marsicana, and medieval hermitages: San Bartolomeo and San Domenico on the Maiella. The archaeological sites of Alba Fucens, Amiternum, Cluviae, and Juvanum and the beautiful city of L’Aquila, fascinate those who desire a cultural vacation. Finally children and their parents like the beaches of Silvi, Pineto, Montesilvano, and Tortoreto.

In the mountains and in the hills we recommend sleeping in bed and breakfasts or agritourisms. For a vacation at the sea an excellent solution is renting an apartment in a country house or vacation house, where there is also often a swimming pool.
