Description

The Villa is a XVIII century country house built by a great family of Venetian patricians. During XIX century it became property of the family Avanzo and is now lead by the owner, Mrs. Elaine Avanzo Bennet, who's from Eire. That's the reason why the charm of this house recalls the Venetian style as well as that of Irish country houses.
The Villa is very near the great Po river, immersed in a fifteen acres garden, with all around riding stables, farm buildings and a Chapel.

In a wing of the villa there are:
"Camera Verde" - a 2 beds room with bathroom;
"Camera gialla e azzurra" - a suite made of a double room and, one-bed one and a bathroom;
"Mansarda" - a penthouse with two double rooms and a bathroom;
"Rustico acacie" - an appartment composed by a living room with sofa bed and kitchen and upstairs  two double rooms with bathroom.

“River that runnest near the ancient walls where my beloved Woman lives...” wrote here Lord Byron, the great English poet who fell desperately in love with Teresa Gamba, the young and very beautiful wife of  Marquis Alessandro Guiccioli, then the owner of the property. The husband, realising that Teresa too was infatuated with Lord Byron, transferred her from the flippant society of Venice to this villa, hoping that the plainer atmosphere of XIX century Polesine would tame her.
But the exile didn't prove effective and the two lovers often secretly would meet in here.

Delicious breakfasts and snacks are served on request only to guests. Hide parking area. Small pets are welcome, it's possible to host guests' horses, in the farm there are lanes and an obstacle course.

Surroundings

The House is in the very heart of  Po Delta Park, an area of great natural interest for all the fans of bird watching. In 20 minute by car you may reach the very picturesque towns of Chioggia and Comacchio, whilst the splendid Benedictine Abbey of Pomposa is only 15 minutes far.
Half an hour to Rovigo and the beautiful Park of  Euganean Hills, with its soft landscapes, famous Italian gardens, olive trees and vineyards.
By train in an hour you may reach the cities of art of Venice, Padua and Ferrara, in one hour and half Ravenna and Verona.

Bologna Arcoveggio- Verona Catullo (1 hour 45 min)
Nearest stations: Adria- Loreo  15 min., Rovigo  40 min.
