Description

It is an ancient XVIII century house, restored according to bio-architecture criteria, with a panoramic view over the sea of the deepest south of Sicily.
At few kilometres from splendid beaches and from the Val di Noto's Baroque towns, it offers quiet and silence to lovers of sun and lazy travellers.
The hospitality is in 3 rooms, with private bathroom and air conditioning, and in 2 mini-suites with bathroom and kitchen.
At guests' disposition the courtyard with an area for meals, solarium-terrace, spaces to relax at centuries old carob trees shadow, independent kitchen and ancient wood stove, bicycles.
Typical local cuisine, breakfast with home made ingredients and coming from fair and supportive trade, with opportunity of picking up directly fruits and vegetables and tasting biological products.
It is a little world to have a break and discover south in all the seasons.

Surroundings

The house is situated at the centre of Iblean Baroque area, at 10km from Modica, and it is easy to reach from the other Baroque towns  of Val di Noto (Noto, Scicli, Ragusa Ibla, Ispica), now part of UNESCO heritage.
The area is rich of naturalistic and archaeological sites of great interest: Ispica's Pit, the Natural Reserve of Vendicari, the one of Irminio river, the Great Pit of Cassibile, Pantalica.
Along the coast you will find beautiful cliffs and free beaches, usable for the greatest part of the year, with typical fishermen's villages as  Donnalucata, Sampieri, Marzamemi.

Activities

Free and equipped beaches at 15min by car; guided excursions, free climbing and horse riding promenades across Iblean Mounts Pits and in nearby natural reserves; visits to archaeological sites of Neolithic era, guided visits to Val di Noto's Baroque towns and to the many ethnological museums in the surroundings; tours by bicycle.
The House organises excursions and trekking in the nature and guided itineraries to discover ancient traditions and flavours.

Food, wine and crafts

Typical Sicilian and vegetarian cuisine; biological production of vegetables, carobs, honey, almonds and, in the surroundings: extra-virgin olive oils, citruses, cheeses and the exquisite Modican chocolate. Showcase of fair trade products. Guided visits to cooperatives to taste products, warm ricotta cheese and of the just picked up oranges....
