Description

The Parco Rurale is a certified bio-ecological Farm situated on Carso's plateau, in a protected area called Landa Carsica included in a Site of Community Importance.

The 35sm 8 apartments, suitable for couples and families, have been obtained reorganising an existing farm building. They are made of a double room with shower bathroom, living room with double sofa bed, entirely equipped kitchenette, satellite TV, terrace or veranda and car parking. Beside there is also one single room with private bathroom.
The single room and one of the apartments are equipped for disable.

Surroundings

In every season there is at least one "Good Reason" for staying here and visiting Carso Goriziano and its surroundings, thanks to the excellent geographical position of the accommodation, which makes it an important logistical point from which you can organize your visits and excursions.

In the hot summer days the most token spots are surely the coast and the beaches of the Alto Adriatico, some not particularly well-known but still very well equipped and pleasant, such as Marina Julia, Sistiana Bay, Grado's Island, and the best known Lignano's beaches. As the coast is very varied, alternating sandy beaches, rocks and castles, it well deserves to be admired directly from sea, possibly with a boat trip.

Springtime and autumn are the best seasons to enjoy the quiet and beauty of Gorizian Carso's tracks and visiting the several castles: Miramare, Duino, Gorizia, and the splendid caves of Carso Triestino and Sloveno, like the Giant Cave, Postumia's Cave and St. Canziano's Cave, part of the World Heritage of UNESCO.

Instead, winter is the best time to visit the beautiful cities of the region: Trieste, Udine, Gorizia, Palmanova, Cividale del Friuli, embellished by a Christmas atmosphere and full of historic and artistic corners. But one thing that you will surely not forget about the winter karst is the intense bora wind, which characterizes these lands, which emits a unique and unmistakable whistle.

How to arrive by public transportation:
By train: about 4 km from the agritourism there is the train station of Sagrado, on the Trieste-Udine line, at which we would be happy to come and get you with our farm's car; in addition, for those passionate about walking, from the state there is a beautiful path of the CAI (n°76) which goes directly to the accommodation.

Activities

But there are also more reasons for a stay in our Parco Rurale, it is to say the opportunity of staying in touch with domestic animals, the play park and area for picnics, the archery, the gymnastic track, the horse riding trips. Not to forget the possibility of tasting the very special wines of the area, combined with the characteristic dishes fruit of the different cultures ever present in Friuli Venezia Giulia: Italian, Austrian and Slavonic.

Food, wine and crafts

In the farm can be bought the first quality meats of Carso's veal and lamb, jams and season fruits.
In "gostilnas", the typical local trattorias it is possible to find special recipes, a mix of cuisine cultures and flavours of different neighbouring regions, as Friuli Venezia Giulia, Carelia and Slovenia are by now all one thing. It is possible to taste “jota” (a soup with sauerkrauts, pork rind and beans), “goulash”, “cotechino with brovada”, all washed down with celebrated and exquisite wines as Terrano and Tocai, and many others.
