Description

The Locanda was born from the desire to transmit a life philosophy which aims at valuing the simple pleasures and at scanning time with slow rhythms.
Our two rooms, finely furnished with furniture made and decorated by us, both have private bathrooms. In particular, the "Loggetta" has a double bed in addition to an armchair bed and is surrounded by a stretch of hydrangeas; the "Piazzetta" has a double bed and simulates an actual town square with panoramic lookout.
At breakfast, fresh and genuine products will brighten your wake-up and will give you the right energy for beginning the day in discovery of the treasures of the Castelli Romani.

Surroundings

The B&B is located on a lane in the historic center of Rocca di Papa, a small entrenched town (750 meters above sea level) that boasts a splendid panorama of Rome and the Castelli Romani. You will be able to lose yourself among the alleyways of the Bavaresi quarter and the Historic Center, visiting the little churches of the town and the Geophysicial Musuem, or walking up to the summit of Mount Cavo to rediscover the ancient path of Via Sacra (ancient Roman street) and to admire the panorama of the two lakes, Albano and Nemi.
Nearby it is possible to visit the Tuscolane Villas of Frascati, Albano (Castelgandolfo) and Nemi Lakes, the Roman Ship Museum, the Sforza-Cesarini Park of Genzano.
The center of Rome is 20 km away and easily reachable both by car and with public transportation in about one hour.

Activities

Nearby it is possible to visit numerous sites of historical, cultural, and archaeological interest. You can take walks, go trekking, go horse riding, or simply relax on the shores of Albano Lake.
In the evening it will be pleasant to return "home" and lose yourself in a book or magazine or simply admire the fabulous sunset over Rome.

Food, wine and crafts

Our breakfast is a moment when you can taste cookies and cakes coming from local bakeries, accompanied by jams and fruit juices.
Typical products of the zone, apart from the famous wine, are: Genzano bread, porcini mushrooms, the roasted pork of Ariccia, chestnuts (autumn), the little strawberries of Nemi (May-June), and many others to discover and taste.
The characteristic towns of Rocca di Papa and of the nearby villages are full of trattorias where you can taste typical dishes accompanied by Castelli wines. We will be pleased to give you indications necessary for satisfying your palate.
