Description

It is a comfortable B&B situated in the green Ibleian hills, in a very quiet residential area, at few kilometres from the golden Mediterranean beaches and immediately out of the historical Baroque centre of Modica (a city that is part of the Unesco Heritage).
Guests are welcome in rooms with private bathroom, with independent air conditioning and TV. Breakfast is served in a wide hall with fire place or, in summer, in the sunny terrace under a beautiful pergola. At guests' disposition a large courtyard with car parking and the garden-orchard where from the fruits come which enrich breakfast with appetising home made products.

Surroundings

At short distance there are itineraries of great historical and cultural interest, embracing all the Sicilian cities well known for the “Noto's Valley Baroque” (Modica, Ragusa, Scicli, Noto, Palazzolo Acreide, etc.). Equally near are marine resorts (Sampieri, Pozzallo, Marina di Modica, etc.) and very important archaeological sites and sites of natural beauty, such as Cava d’Ispica, Vendicari, Pantalica and Cava grande del Cassibile. In addition, day trips are possible to Sicily's main destinations of tourist interest, such as Agrigento's Valley of Temples, Caltagirone and its ceramics, the Greek theater of Syracuse, the mosaics of Piazza Armerina and Etna volcano.

How to arrive by public transportation:
- By plane : Catania Fontanrossa Airport.
- By plane : opening in April 2008, Comiso Pio La Torre Airport.
- By train : from Catania (Syracuse) and from Palermo you arrive in Modica; afterwards the accommodation is reachable by urban buses for Modica Alta.
- By bus - Modica is reachable from Catania (Catania Airport), from Palermo, from Syracuse, and from Ragusa with the AST buses (Azienda Siciliana Trasporti - www.aziendasicilianatrasporti.it).

Activities

Sport facilities as swimming pool, tennis courts, gymnasium are available in the immediate surroundings: it is possible to make naturalistic excursions both hiking and by MB without or with qualified guides.

Food, wine and crafts

Typical Modican cuisine courses or tasting, home produced jams, marmalades, almond milk, biscuits and the famous “Modican chocolate”, a delicious local speciality.
It's an area of great eno-gastronomic interest, with production and sale of extra-virgin olive oil and wines as the “Nero d'Avola” and “Cerasuolo of Vittoria”.
